Our main product is a Privacy Platform that helps healthcare providers automate HIPAA compliance across their websites and apps. But we’re not stopping there. We’re building a whole suite of new marketing applications on top of this platform to deliver even more value.

### What’s the Senior Software Engineer - Data role all about?
We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer with a serious data background to join one of our product teams. We believe the best engineers don’t just close tickets—they solve real problems. They think like owners, focus on business impact, and make everyone around them better. As our products get more complex, they’re pulling from more and more data sources. This role is key to building the next generation of Freshpaint’s products, both by shipping new features and by helping shape our entire data strategy.
### What You'll Actually Do
As a Senior Software Engineer focused on data, you’ll be using your skills to build products that are powered by data. Your job is to deliver results, whether that means building a reliable, scalable solution yourself or guiding others to do it. A huge part of your role will be mentoring other engineers and analysts on how to maintain top-notch data quality, testing, and monitoring. You’ll work closely with the product and engineering teams to turn data needs into solid systems, and you’ll even jump on customer calls to hear their problems firsthand. This means you'll be designing data models, setting up monitoring, and working with our Data Guild to map out the company's broader data architecture.
### What We're Looking For
We’re looking for someone with 5+ years of experience building products, either as a software or data engineer. You should be obsessed with the customer and have a great eye for the little details that make a product truly valuable.
Here’s what that looks like:
* You’ve built and maintained production-grade data pipelines before.
* You’re comfortable with application development, a master at SQL, and fluent in at least one data engineering language (like Python, Scala, or Java).
* You have real-world experience with large-scale data warehouses (think AWS, GCP, or Azure) and know your way around modern data modeling.
* You can use data visualization to tell a story that people can actually understand.
* You’re familiar with orchestration tools, version control, and CI/CD.
* You’re a great communicator who can navigate ambiguity and make smart architectural calls.

* Experience as one of the first data engineers at a growing company.
* Familiarity with Golang, Typescript, or Data Build Tool (dbt).
* Experience with tools like Snowflake, Looker, or Fivetran.
